Winskley Cum Grantley YFC offers a wide range of experience and skills from playing sports to running meetings. In 1942 a group of people from Winksley, a small village in the heart of Yorkshire decided to get together and form their own Young Farmers club. After only three months of the club being formed, the locals from Grantley, a neighbouring village to Winksley were invited to join their organisation and Winksley Cum Grantley YFC was born.

With only eight members and membership costing two shillings and six pence, the club met on Wednesday evenings every week during the summer months and only fortnightly during the winter.

Sixty severn years later, the club continues to run exeptionally well with membership numbers reaching over 80. The club now has a rugular attendance or round about 6 seniors, 12 intermediates and 50 juniors. The traditions of always meeting at Grantley Village hall on Wednesday evenings has not changed but a greater percentage of the meetings now take place away from the club room. These club nights ranges from stock judging to ice skating and from carol singing to farm visits/ evaluations. (See Dates for your Diary Section)

To many people from Winksley or Grantley will never have been heard before, but within Young Farmers we as a club have gone from strength to strength over the past years. Since 2006 we hold first place in Harogate District and second place in the Yorkshire county.
